A Note from Us: Navigating Upcoming Surgery & Recovery
We are facing a major upcoming surgery and recovery period, and we are reaching out to our community for support. While we are incredibly grateful that insurance is covering 90% of the medical and hospital costs, the upcoming weeks will still bring a heavy financial strain.
The Situation
Recovery Timeline: Doctors estimate a recovery period of 6 to 8 weeks. Kenneth is currently working to secure more than 64 hours of paid leave, but we will still face a significant gap in our regular income.
Current Challenges: This medical hurdle comes in the midst of a ongoing battle with the VA regarding Kenneth's dropped benefits, which we have been fighting since April.
Our Goal: We are doing everything we can to avoid accumulating debt during this time and hope to build a small safety net for peace of mind while focusing on healing.
