I’m incredibly thankful to say that I walked away from a recent car accident without serious injuries — just some neck pain. My car, however, wasn’t as lucky. The repairs total $3,400 (and that’s with a discount; it could have been $5–7k), and because I didn’t have full coverage insurance, I’m left to cover the entire bill myself.
This couldn’t have come at a worse time. In the past few weeks alone, I’ve had:
- $1,100 out-of-pocket for my wisdom tooth surgery
- Over $700 in vet expenses, including two spay surgeries for my cats, medical treatments and one cat’s eye medications.
- Several other bills I’ve fallen behind on
Now, on top of the repair costs, I also have upcoming expenses for full coverage insurance and new car registration. I’ve been relying on expensive Ubers and rides from friends, but it’s just not reliable, and it’s making everyday life so stressful.
This car accident was never supposed to happen, and I truly wish I wasn’t in the position of asking for help — but any amount, no matter how small, would make a huge difference in helping me get back on the road and back on my feet.
