As many of you know, Melanie is my daughter's, Piper's, beautiful partner. She is one of the kindest human beings I've ever met. She loves with her whole heart, invests every inch of her being into her relationship with Piper and has brought much joy to our family.
Recently, Mel fell resulting in a severe knee injury. She has torn her MCL, ACL, meniscus, and dislocated her patella. This is a very serious injury that requires surgery. Mel's orthopedic surgeon says she's looking at 8-10 months recovery time. Unfortunately, she doesn't have the money to pay for the surgery or the associated costs.
Although Mel works for State Farm, they do not provide health insurance for their employees!!! I know! I was shocked too!
Mel's been saving up for a rainy day, but this is more than she could have ever imagined. She is now selling her car and cutting costs everywhere possible in an effort to generate the funds knee-ded (pun intended) for her surgery.
