Support Food for Thought Pantry – Fighting Food Insecurity in Glendale, CA
As of November 1, 2025, millions of Americans are at risk of losing access to food assistance due to a federal funding disruption affecting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
This crisis will directly impact the 2,700 Glendale Community College students who rely on SNAP benefits through the CalFresh Program for their everyday meals, leaving many without the means to buy groceries or meet basic nutritional needs.
With nearly half of Glendale Community College students already facing food insecurity and more than 25,000 Glendale residents living below the poverty line, the Food for Thought Pantry is more vital than ever. Over the past eight years, this initiative has grown from providing grocery store vouchers to students in need, to operating two fully stocked pantry locations on campus, serving more than 10,000 individuals each year.
In the past year alone, the Pantry distributed over 725,000 pounds of healthy food, groceries, and hygiene products to students and community members.
Now, with the potential suspension of SNAP benefits, the demand for emergency food support will rise sharply. Your donation can make an immediate difference, helping ensure that no student or community member goes hungry during this critical time.
Join us in fighting food insecurity and supporting our GCC student community.
