My name is Misty. I am physically and mentally disabled due to being a domestic violence victim. But I am also a mother to a very special, and beautiful, and optimistic little girl.
We have been homeless since early October of last year. We have moved from hotel to hotel, staying in my broken down car when there was no other option. This has been especially hard on my daughter who is autistic and struggles expressing herself. She misses having her own space in the world. She misses her security blanket, which happens to be a giant stuffed cow named Mr Moomoo. (He's too big for our cramped situation right now and is in storage.)
On a positive note for me and my daughter, we have found a place and have been approved to move in on the first of May. I do have a voucher from section 8 that helps with the majority of the rent. My dilemma is I only have part of the $2000 deposit. I do not have it all.
Without help I will lose this chance to give my daughter the stability she deserves and dearly needs. A room of her own and a home to call our own. Section 8 vouchers must be used or they expire, and we are quickly running out of time.
My daughter wanted to tell everyone thank you for your help. She is so excited for the next step in little adventure. I also appreciate any help that gets us closer our goal. Prayers are always welcome.
