This year has been very difficult for our family. We've lost people near & dear to us, had our only vehicle stolen, lost housing, I was laid off and then suffered a broken foot & toes. We were trying to think positive when approached with the idea of moving in to a recently divorced family members home in order to financially benefit both of our families. Things were not as they seemed and things took an ugly turn between the family member & my husband, my kids sadly witnessing it all. Due to the altercation, we had no other choice than to immediately vacate our living situation for our children & our own safety. Through the generosity of my parents, we are currently staying in an extended stay through the end of this month and recently procured a vehicle.
Much like the rest of 2023 though, the curve balls have returned and our vehicle is having issues that make it unsafe to drive, and while we are both actively seeking employment we are now is dire need of assistance.
We will do whatever is possible to ensure our children are safe and healthy, but I miss my their big silly, ear to ear smiles of happiness. They try to hide how hard this has been, but I can see & hear it in every thing they do & say. Which is why I'm choosing to reach out and ask for help.
My son has lived & breathed baseball since the first time he felt the laces with his fingers. He has his big end of spring out of town WS Tournament coming up in June, and I don't want to have to break his heart and let him down yet again by having to tell him that we just can't this year. The tournament will likely be his final with his current team as we will likely by moving out of state due to my employment opportunities. My daughter loves his big end of spring travel tournament because it is the culmination of all those weekends spent cheering on her big brother and his teammates. More importantly to her, is getting to play at the beach and in the ocean mixed with a little baseball as this is what they have looked forward to all season. More importantly though to both my kids though, our family is together having fun with nothing else but baseball & the beach in our minds.
