This is my big sister, oldest of 4 and a force of a mother and just as a woman overall. She is the glue that holds our family together despite the things she has overcome and the continued hardships she endures. She is a single mother of 3 who works a full time job at a company she has worked her way from the ground up for many years. She is the most financially responsible person I know, always pays her bills on time and still finds a way to pay for daycare for her youngest and sports for both her boys (and if you’re a parent/grandparent you know those don’t come cheap). Somehow she always finds a way to make it look so effortless and perfect but I happen to know that she gets 0 government assistance or any financial assistance at all. Unfortunately in the economic times we live in, someone who is doing everything they’re supposed to be doing and works harder than most gets denied for every single thing they apply for. Including, recently, a program that claims to assist with dental procedures for minors. She jumped through so many hoops and provided multiple documents over a long period of time with the promise of assistance to get help with my oldest nephews dental work only to be denied at the end with not an absolute cent. I only know this because my mom lives with her and picks up on these things because my sister is not one to complain or announce when things don’t go right. But I’m glad I know this. Because this is just the final straw for me to watch my sister quietly struggle when I see how hard she works to provide and give her kids the absolute best. Her vehicle is on the outs as well. It just seems to always pile on the best people. I had some really kind blessings using this platform when I had my accident and was out of work and I just hate to see my loved ones struggling and am unable to do anything so this is my attempt to help my sweet big sister who has always been there for me since the day I was born from teaching me how to read to showing me by example every day what a genuinely good woman and person in general looks like. I know we’re all struggling these days but even if you have a dollar to throw her way just to show support to an amazing mom and wonderful person who deserves a break more then anyone I know.
