As many of you know, our beloved brother and friend David Franco departed this world on 10/30/22. An amazing friend to so many, an awesome brother, a wonderful son, and an irreplaceable father to two amazing young men. As many of those who knew him can attest, his love for life and friendship was contagious. He is survived by his two sons, and his Fiancé whom he was to wed this coming February (as a birthday present to himself!). He touched so many lives leaving many smiles and better lives in his wake, and we consider ourselves blessed to have shared ours with him. Among his many accomplishments, one of his final endeavors was the establishment of an annual fundraiser to help support families from the Rio Grande Valley who need to travel for cancer or other treatments not available in the RGV (in memory of our father, whom we recently lost to cancer). He was on his way to a meeting to help finalize details for this event, which he helped organize in conjunction with Desperado H-D, when he suffered this fatal accident. His efforts and work in this regard will not be forgotten, and will be continued by his friends and family for years to come.
As the family navigates this painful reality and adjusts to the new normal without him, many people have asked how they can help. We have established this fundraising event to assist the family with some of the end-of-life costs, and hopefully assist his sons with some of the financial support which they need as they continue their education (which was one of David's greatest priorities). Funds raised will be used to offset funeral service expenses, provide some assistance for his sons, and provide an initial contribution to the charity he was working to establish. While no amount of money will bring him back, we can each help honor his memory by helping those he lived for.
Thank you in advance for your continued support and prayers, and may you be blessed always. Never take a day or even a breath for granted, for each second is a gift, never to return again!
In closing, I leave you with one of his favorite sayings, "Animo!" Let's move forward, and fearlessly life life to its fullest.
