Hi everyone,
My name is Jessica, and I am a wife, a mom of four amazing children, and an aspiring registered nurse.
Ever since graduating high school, becoming a nurse has been my dream. Like many moms, life happened. Between raising my family, working, and putting my children first, my education was something I had to pursue one step at a time. Over the years, I attended school on and off, never giving up on the hope that one day I would become a nurse.
This year, that dream finally became a reality.
I was accepted into Grand Canyon University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program and will begin classes on September 8, 2026. I completed all of my prerequisite courses with a 3.77 prerequisite GPA, earned a 3.92 overall program GPA, passed the HESI entrance exam, and have officially been medically cleared for the program.
After years of hard work, I am finally here.
Unfortunately, I have one last obstacle before I can start.
Several years ago, I received a Pell Grant overpayment that I have faithfully been paying back every month. I recently learned that before my federal financial aid can be released for nursing school, the remaining balance of $1049.97 must be paid in full.
Once this balance is paid, Grand Canyon University can finalize my financial aid, and I will be financially cleared to begin the nursing program. Because my financial clearance deadline is approaching, I decided to humbly ask for help.
If you feel led to support me, no donation is too small. Whether it’s $1, $5, $10, or simply sharing this fundraiser, every bit helps bring me one step closer to becoming the nurse I’ve worked so hard to become.
My goal isn’t just to earn a degree—it’s to build a better future for my family and to care for others during some of the most important moments of their lives.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story, for your encouragement, your prayers, and for any support you are able to give.
With gratitude,
Jessica
