Hi! My name is K'yanah Skannal and I am a graduate student at Houston Baptist University. I am pursuing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My overall life goal is to make an impact on every individual I have the pleasure of meeting. I want to make others smile and remind them that they are stronger than they believe they are. It was when I went through self-examination and began to look at the puzzle pieces of my life that I realized I was called to the counseling profession. I believe that it is yet another avenue that will allow me to build others up and help them overcome challenges I once thought I wouldn't have been able to overcome.
This year already has been quite difficult for me as several obstacles have been placed in front of me but I stand on faith. I have found myself in a tight space financially and school has become a burden for me this semester. I have an outstanding balance that has to be taken care of before the semester ends in a couple of weeks and I currently have a hold on my account that prevents me from registering for classes. I am generally not the one to seek help in this way but I lay pride down, and say "I need your help!"
