Miranda is an independent 26-year-old starting out in life with a young career and home of her own. She is also a third generation, ten-year long volunteer firefighter with the Glenham Fire Department in Glenham, NY.
She is early on in her career as a New York State Corrections Officer who just completed her NYS Firefighter One Certification as a member of the Green Haven Fire Brigade. She is also a lifelong, avid soccer player and like any young adult, enjoys time spent with her family, friends, and coworkers.
Unfortunately, just last month she was diagnosed with Stage 3 - Triple Negative Breast Cancer which is an aggressive breast cancer. Miranda is currently under care of oncologists at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan.
Miranda will have high, uncovered medical expenses; lost time at work with loss of income; continued and increasing living expenses including her new mortgage; and of course, experience months of coping with trying to fight this disease while at the same time worrying about making all ends meet.
We are creating this fund in order to help assist Miranda with expenses both directly associated with treatment as well as to help with those everyday costs of living. Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards helping with all of this.
