Help My Husband Come Home to His Family in Egypt
Sometimes, there are things in life that money simply cannot replace, like being able to hug your mother after years apart.
My husband came to the United States from Egypt about six years ago to build a life and a future here. Since then, he has worked hard, built a home with me, and created a family of his own. But one part of his heart has remained thousands of miles away: his family back home in Egypt.
He has now gone six years without seeing his mother.
Six years means birthdays missed, family moments missed, and countless ordinary days that he could have spent sitting beside his mother, sharing a meal, talking, laughing, or simply being together. I know how much it means to him to see her again, and as his wife, I want more than anything to help make that moment possible.
Over the years, we have been doing our best to balance school, parenting, work, household expenses, and building a stable future for our family. We have never really had the opportunity to travel together as a family during our three years of marriage. The cost of traveling to Egypt for all three of us has made that dream feel out of reach.
I am Vietnamese American, and my husband is Egyptian and Muslim. We come from different cultures and backgrounds, but our love for family is something that connects us deeply. I would love the opportunity to experience his home and culture with him, meet the family I have heard so much about, and, most importantly, watch my husband finally reunite with his mother.
My husband is a very private person, so I am choosing not to share personal photos or private details about him or his family. I hope you can understand that this fundraiser is being created from a place of love and respect. I simply want to give him something meaningful a chance to go home.
Our goal is to raise enough to help cover airfare and travel expenses for my husband, our son, and me to travel to Egypt and reunite with his family.
