After a 3 year healing journey from a heroic albeit extremely traumatic work event, my husband, and Police Officer, Theo, started a backyard project. He was supposed to have help on this project, but the second person had changed their mind.
In the photos, you will see the work done so far from him and the generosity of a kind friend who came to help for the better part of a day.
3 years after the traumatic 2022 incident, in which Theo, in his patrol car and uniform, gave lifesaving care to a motorcyclist who was struck by a vehicle. The man’s arm detached. Theo put a tourniquet on the man’s arm to his body and gave him chest compressions. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, the man died in his arms.
When April and May 2025 came, we hit the 3-year anniversary of the motorcyclist event as well as the lifesaving award and first hospitalization.
After a 9-month struggle, Theo was approved for Workman’s Compensation. His salary paused where it was 3 years ago. To compensate, I began working. As he was healing, he was also being the at-home parent for our 3 young children.
Since Theo was doing this long overdue project on his own, we were able to keep costs low.
***The back side of our home is currently torn off besides a Vapor barrier, it is completely exposed to the elements***
Our house is open and exposed. We do not have the money to afford the work to have it closed up. This is where our family needs your help. If you’re able, anything helps.
If we are able to reach our goal for the cost of the project, I hope to use any additional remaining funds towards mental health resources for our family.
Warmly,
Gabrielle Hall, wife and Mother
