My friend Golnar has a bigger heart than anyone i have ever met. Life has kicked her down time after time lately, including losing her job ..yet when a kitten needed help she was right there to step up and help. That’s just how she is. She will put everyone and every living being before herself. She would starve before ever letting an animal feel an ounce of hunger. She rescued 5 week old Frida from a busy kroger parking lot a few weeks ago. After shots & deworming she noticed Frida’s belly was still extremely swollen. She was very lethargic and no interest in playing or being a kitten. A return vet visit lead to a horrible and most likely fatal diagnosis. . Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP)
There is no treatment available in the U.S. So the vet drained fluids from Frida’s little tummy and said we can put her to sleep when your ready…. OR…
there is a life saving medication you can order on the black market from Canada but its very expensive ($540) its called GS-441524 - (injection everyday for 90 days) and it’s said to be very effective. Honestly he could of told her there’s a 1% chance of survival and she still would have done it .. thats what makes this woman so special. She won’t give up on trying to save this innocent kittens life no matter how much the cost. I am making this fundraiser to try and help her with the cost of this medication because as her best friend i know she doesn’t have it, but she will do without to make sure Frida has a chance at life. UPDATE- After only a few weeks of the medication baby Frida is gaining weight, has much more energy and is starting to be a normal sassy little kitten. The vet is so happy with her progress. 60 more days of injections which she isn’t a fan of but is certainly making a huge difference.
