I’m Shaye Johnson, a Registered ICU Nurse, certified CPR Instructor with the American Heart Association, and a local titleholder in the Miss America Opportunity.
I’m raising funds for educational scholarships and heart research through the AHA Go Red x Miss America collaboration!
The American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and the Miss America Scholarship Foundation have joined forces to support two powerful causes:
❤️ Funding life-saving heart research, and
🎓 Providing scholarships for women’s education.
As a nurse who sees the impact of heart disease every day, this mission is deeply personal to me. Through my Community Service Initiative, The Red Heart Project, I’m dedicated to educating Utah communities about CPR and other life-saving skills — with the goal of raising survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest across our state.

This collaboration provides funds for national awards, and in addition, both Miss America's/Miss America's Teen State Scholarships and the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement.
