I am running the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 1st. I want to run this with a purpose and have some good come from it instead of just running a race; and felt like God brought Matthew to mind. Matthew is a member of my church and recently suffered a fall from a deer stand. He received a spinal cord injury and is now a quadriplegic. He was in ICU for 2 weeks and then hospitalized in an acute care facility for 8 more weeks. Matthew was transferred to Shepherd Center in Atlanta for 6 weeks of inpatient rehabilitation. He is making wonderful progress, but still has a long journey ahead. Due to a bone infection, he will undergo more surgery and then return to Atlanta for more therapy.
I would love to “run” for Matthew and raise money to go towards their medical bills/ cost of making house modifications.
