Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
We are humbly reaching out during what has been the most difficult and overwhelming season of our lives.
In December, I was hospitalized with a rare brain condition called Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension. It causes intense pressure around the brain, constant pain, vision issues, and fatigue. Since then, I’ve been on short-term disability and unable to work, still learning how to manage this lifelong condition.
Earlier in the year, my fiancé Rod’s job cut his hours down to just three days a week, leaving us struggling for months. Still, we held on. But then we were hit with another blow—our landlord gave us notice that they were selling our home of two years. We had just 30 days to find a new place. It took everything we had—financially, emotionally, and physically—to move our family and get settled.
We were hoping things were finally calming down, but then came the most devastating news yet: Rod’s entire shift at work was laid off.
As if that wasn’t enough, Rod’s chronic health condition took a serious turn, and just two weeks ago, he was hospitalized for a full week. His condition continues to affect his strength and well-being, and right now, he's home recovering without a job to return to.
His job has offered a payout, but it could take up to 30 days to arrive—and unfortunately, we’re in crisis mode right now. Bills are piling up. Groceries are low. Rent is due. And we have four children looking to us to make sense of a situation we ourselves are still trying to understand.
We’re doing everything we can to stay strong, to keep the faith, and to push through—but we’re stretched thinner than ever.
If you feel led, any amount you can give will help us cover essentials: housing, utilities, groceries, gas, and the ongoing medical expenses both Rod and I are facing. Most of all, we ask for your prayers, your kindness, and your compassionas we try to get back on our feet.
We believe in a God who provides, who sees us in our suffering, and who sends help when we need it most. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for being that help.
With love and gratitude,
Celeste
