I am reaching out to introduce you to our beloved sister, Elizabeth, who is bravely battling inoperable stage 3 esophageal cancer. Since her diagnosis in May, she has faced numerous challenges, including unsuccessful treatment attempts in Maine that resulted in further tumor growth. Our last hope now lies with a promising new treatment at Mass General in Boston.
After weeks of waiting for insurance approval, we have finally managed to get Elizabeth to Boston for consultations. She will need to stay there for 7 weeks, far from her home and her husband, who must continue working to support them both. Despite their best efforts, they have exhausted their financial resources and are struggling to manage.
Elizabeth is in dire need of caregivers during this difficult period, as she is experiencing significant weakness and pain. In addition to caregiving, she requires assistance with housing, transportation, and other medical expenses. This situation has been incredibly stressful for Elizabeth and our family.
We humbly ask for any assistance you can offer. Whether it's through donations or other forms of support, your kindness will be received with deep gratitude and could make a significant difference in Elizabeth’s journey. Please consider how you might help during this challenging time.
We welcome any support or ideas you may have to help Elizabeth. Please feel free to reach out to our mother, Janet Hammond, at janettt@aol.com. Thank you for your compassion and generosity.
