Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out because I'm facing one of the hardest decisions of my life, and I'm asking for help before giving up on my best friend.
Linc is my 6-year-old Doberman/Pit Bull mix. He is incredibly loved, but he has developed serious aggression issues since he was at a temporary home for 6months while I was moving to a place that allowed dogs. During that time I believe he got abused or neglected, that has made him aggressive towards strangers or other animals over the year I’ve gotten him back home with me. Before this year he has never shown any aggression.
Most recently, he bit my boyfriend severely enough that he required 14 stitches and emergency medical treatment. This wasn't his first bite, he snapped at the plumber and Gardner but this was his first reactionary bite that pierced the skin, I know I have to take the situation seriously for everyone's safety.
Because of his bite history, many trainers and rescues won't accept him, and behavioral euthanasia has become a heartbreaking possibility. Before making that decision, I want to do everything I possibly can to give Linc one last chance.
I'm raising funds to cover the cost of:
A professional aggression-focused board-and-train program
Behavioral evaluations by qualified professionals
Transportation and any required veterinary or behavioral assessments

I understand that many people may have strong feelings about dogs with a bite history. I want you to know that my priority is the safety of everyone involved. I'm not looking to ignore what has happened—I'm looking for one final opportunity for trained professionals to evaluate and help him before I have to consider saying goodbye. He is loyal to me and got confused in the moment and he made a mistake. He is a good boy over all that deserves another chance.
