My husband and I shared a life filled with love and resilience. He had his first heart attack at a young age, and by the time he had his second in September 2010, it was clear drastic changes were needed. The doctors inserted a defibrillator, and he had to leave his job at the chemical plant. Living on disability was tough, but we made it work, always supporting each other through every challenge. Our four children, their spouses, and our grandchildren brought joy to our lives, and we cherished every moment together.
This new year began with fear as I found him struggling to walk, his voice calling to me for help. An ambulance rushed him to the hospital, and for two weeks, we lived moment by moment as doctors tried to stabilize him. His blood pressure was dangerously low, and soon he was moved to a larger hospital when his kidneys started failing. Dialysis became a constant, and tests revealed he might need a heart and liver transplant. Throughout this, I was there, holding his hand, whispering love and encouragement.
The day came when his condition suddenly worsened. I held his hand as his eyes drifted closed, surrounded by our family's love. He passed away with us by his side. He was my life partner, the father to our wonderful kids, and a beloved Pappy. At just 67, he left us with memories of a life well-lived but also with unexpected financial burdens, including funeral costs and our mortgage.
We had just renewed our vows on our 45th anniversary, a testament to our enduring love. Without life insurance, I find myself in a difficult position. My disability and survivor benefits barely cover monthly expenses. As I navigate this new chapter without him, any support to help cover his funeral costs would bring comfort. Your kindness and understanding mean everything in this difficult time.
