Petey is an intact female tuxedo shorthair who was rescued during a summer heat wave in Woodbridge, NJ. She is very friendly, loves getting scratches along her back, and very laid back. She tested positive for FeLV/FIV and we have been looking for a home for her for over a month now.
We have recently learned that Petey is pregnant. Due to her FeLV/FIV, a pregnancy is both dangerous for Petey and the likelihood of a miscarriage is high. For this reason, our veterinarian has advised us to get Petey spayed immediately, which will also terminate the pregnancy.
Unfortunately, a spaying procedure at this veterinarian is estimated to be between $868 and $1085. Petey needs this spay, but on top of previous costs we have already paid to get her healthy again, we simply do not have the money. We are asking for donations to help fund Petey's spaying, any amount will help!

Because of her diagnoses, Petey is best suited to a home without other cats, or where the other cats also have FeLV and FIV. Petey has had kittens before she was infected with FeLV (who were all adopted) but now it's her turn. She is approximately 2 or 3 years old. Petey is litter box trained, but prefers an open top litter box.
