I’m excited to be participating in the 50th running of Grandma’s Marathon (The half marathon), and this year I’m asking for your support to help make a difference for kids in our community. By donating to the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), you’re not only supporting my entry, but also helping provide free youth programs, scholarships, running shoes for student athletes, and grant money for local teams and clubs. The YAF is the charitable arm of Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth. Since its creation, YAF has contributed more than $1.8 million in support of youth athletics and activities that encourage physical fitness, mental health, and emotional well-being.
In the past year alone, YAF has:
-
Provided free kids’ programming and events for 3,250+ participants (including the Wednesday Night and Saturday Morning at the Races series).
-
Awarded $80,000+ in grant money to local teams, organizations, and clubs.
-
Donated 450+ pairs of free running shoes to high school cross country and track athletes.
-
Given $5,000 in scholarships to local high school and collegiate runners.
By supporting this cause, you’re helping kids in Duluth and across the region gain access to opportunities that keep them active, healthy, and growing through sports.
$500 is the ticket entry they ask for. anything more donated I will also get to the YAF for this cause!
