Help Me Heal and Keep a Roof Over My Head After My Stroke
On August 12, 2026, my life changed unexpectedly when I suffered an ischemic stroke that affected my mobility, strength, and functionality on my left side.
I work in home health care, a physically demanding job that requires me to lift, pivot, assist with mobility, prepare meals, provide personal care, perform housekeeping duties, and be physically present for my client. Right now, I simply cannot safely perform those responsibilities. Until I regain my strength and mobility and am medically cleared to return to work, I have no way to earn my normal income.
Unfortunately, I am uninsured, which has created another major obstacle in my recovery. I currently don’t have a primary care doctor or neurologist, and I have not been able to get the physical therapy and medical follow-up I need to regain my strength and hopefully return to work safely.
And honestly, this has been an incredibly difficult season for our family.
On July 10, just weeks before my stroke, we lost our beloved dogs. They were a huge part of our family, and losing them was heartbreaking.
At the same time, my husband has been placed back on dialysis after experiencing kidney failure. His health requires ongoing medical care, but because I am currently unable to work, we are having to rely on his income to keep our household going. We are in a situation where even getting him to the hospital to be seen can be difficult because of the financial strain we are facing.
It feels like we have been hit with one thing after another, and right now I am simply asking for a little help while I try to heal.
My biggest fear is losing our home or falling so far behind on our bills that we won’t be able to recover. I don’t want to spend this critical time worrying about whether we will have enough money for rent and basic necessities. I want to be able to focus on my recovery, attend physical therapy, get the medical care I need, and work toward becoming independent and returning to work.
Any donation, no matter how small, would help us tremendously. The funds will go toward rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, medical appointments, physical therapy, and other basic living expenses while I am unable to work.

I never imagined I would be in a position where I would have to ask for help like this. I just need life to let up for a little while so I can concentrate on healing without the added stress of trying to keep my head above water.
