Growing up in Carlisle, home of the U.S. Army War College, I've always held a huge amount of respect for the military and particularly our hero veterans who fearlessly fight to defend our freedoms. Upon returning home, these warriors often face unexpected difficulties and invisible burdens processing what they have experienced and returning to a normal, civilian life.
Operation: Heal Our Heroes, cofounded by an old friend, has made it their mission to end veteran suicide through 2 main goals:
- Raising awareness of these struggles so that both civilians and veterans understand it's ok to seek help for mental health
- Raising funds to provide veterans the resources and private support needed for their transition 'all the way home'
I hope you'll consider supporting my modest goal as my small token of appreciation for the freedoms afforded by our hero veterans.
