A Vision for Regeneration: The Sacred Sanctuaries
As EPU enters an exciting new phase, our focus is on building Sacred Sanctuaries—or “Paxil Kayala” as they’re called in the Mayan tradition. These sacred spaces are designed to regenerate the land and weave ancient wisdom into the fabric of our modern communities. The time has come to honor the prophecies of the Ancient Ones—the wise elders who foretold a time when humanity would reconnect with nature through places of learning, healing, and spiritual renewal.
Across cultures, these sacred spaces have been known by different names—Shambala, Utopia, Sacred Circles—but they all carry the same essence: places that unite us in peace, deepen our bond with the Earth, and support the flourishing of all life. As systems of the old world crumble, these sanctuaries are emerging as beacons of a new way of being—guided by wisdom, grounded in the Earth, and nourished by a spirit of collective well-being.
For over 20 years, EPU has been committed to making this vision a reality. We are now inviting you to be part of this powerful shift—working together to heal ourselves, our communities, and the planet.
A New Dawn: The School of Earth Wisdom
In 2025, we are laying the groundwork to open the School of Earth Wisdom at the Deer Mountain Sanctuary—a place where ancient teachings will meet modern wisdom. The school will serve as an inclusive, sacred space for people of all backgrounds to discover and cultivate their unique “personal medicine”—the gifts that each of us has to offer in service of the Earth and the greater community.
In this space, we will also focus on learning to grow our modern Earth intelligence, integrating ancient wisdom with contemporary practices to live in harmony with nature. Through the power of this wisdom, we can create healthy, thriving communities rooted in balance, unity, and sustainability.

Your generosity will directly fund the construction of an all-weather teaching and learning facility at the Deer Mountain Sanctuary—an essential space for events, ceremonies, and gatherings. This facility will serve as the heart of the sanctuary and will be integrated with ancient ceremonial sites and the breathtaking wild beauty of the surrounding bioregion. With ongoing restoration projects like the dam removal and Klamath River restoration nearby, Deer Mountain stands as a living example of how we can restore balance in both our inner and outer landscapes.
