My name is Milynda Johnston, I am 18 years old, and I'm a senior at Tumwater High School. I also attend New Market Skills Center where I am studying to earn my Veterinary Assistant certificate. I have already received my early acceptance to Southwest Minnesota State University, where I’m majoring in Biology with emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Sciences and I’m a member of the girls swim and dive team. My goal for the future is to become a livestock veterinarian.
I was nominated by one of my teachers to participate in the WorldStrides Veterinary Academy program this summer where I will have the opportunity to travel to Thailand for two weeks. During those two weeks I will earn 60 veterinary hours towards my degree, while working with elephants at the sanctuary for a week. I will also get to assist at an animal rescue helping to spay and neuter dogs and cats.
I would love to participate in this once in a lifetime program, but it is expensive and with the recent passing of my dad unexpectedly would place a hardship on my family so I am asking for help to raise the funds needed to complete my enrollment. I would greatly appreciate any donation if you feel so inclined to help.
