Five litters, thirty-one kittens, and an inspiration named Mommy Meow Meows.

A feral mother who came into my life in the most raw, urgent way. Her first litter — six tiny kittens left on my doorstep in the rain — didn’t survive, but she kept going. Over the next couple of years, she had four more litters — thirty-one kittens in total. With each one, I was able to gain a bit more of her trust while I domesticated, fostered, and adopted her babies into loving homes. I even got her spayed after the last litter… and two months later, she was hit by a bus. Her life was ended just as it was beginning — I felt so many things while burying her; guilt, anger, sadness, I kept thinking of how betrayed she must have felt that I wasn’t there to protect her after she finally trusted me. Then one day I noticed there was a brand new litter of kittens in my garage and that’s when the pain of losing her turned in to a plan: Purrtastic Voyage: a mobile cat rescue traveling across states, taking cats out of danger and moving them into safety, stability, and loving homes.

I’m launching a mobile rescue journey from Houston, Texas, to Okemos, Michigan. Along the way, I’ll rescue cats and kittens from unsafe, abandoned, or feral situations, stabilize, foster, and prepare them for adoption, and connect them with rescues and networks in areas with capacity. This is not catch-and-release. Every cat is moved forward — toward safety, care, and forever homes. One mile. One cat. One connection at a time. Some cities are overflowing with cats and have no space left to help them. Other communities have adopters, fosters, and open arms — but no way to reach the animals who need them most. A mobile rescue changes that. A van transforms isolation into access. A tank of gas turns a dead-end alley into a doorway to safety. Your support fuels that journey.

Phase one goal: the rescue vehicle.

Goal: $10,000–$12,000.
Phase one is about securing a reliable van that will serve as safe, climate-controlled transportation, a mobile rescue base, and a bridge from street survival to foster homes and forever families. I’ve already identified several suitable used vans under $10,000 and have most of the essential rescue supplies.

How your donation helps:
$10-$25: food and litter for rescued cats.
$30 - $75: vet visits, medications, and sterilization.
$80 - $250: carriers, supplies, and rescue logistics,
$1,000+: a major step toward the van that makes this journey real.

Every dollar goes directly to the animals and action, not overhead. Your donation makes a lifesaving, mobile rescue happen now.

Mommy Meow Meows taught me so much — about boundaries, about trust, and about how to speak love into someone who has only ever known fear and survival. She showed me that rescue isn’t just about saving bodies; it’s about healing hearts, building confidence, and giving a life that finally feels safe.

Purrtastic Voyage exists to carry that lesson forward. Every mile we drive, every cat we rescue, is a chance to rewrite a story — from fear to comfort, from the harsh elements of the streets to safety and love. If you’ve ever wished you could do more than watch strays struggle, if you believe that even small acts of care ripple outward, this is your invitation to be part of something real. Donate. Share. Amplify. Help me turn these scared, furry ferals into purring cuddle puddles!
