UPDATE:SURGERY IS SCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 26, 2026!
My son Niko who is 3 will be needing to have surgery out of state. We will need to be gone for approximately 2 weeks. The surgery will be scheduled in the next 4 to 6 weeks, unless they can get him in sooner, as we are on a cancellation list. Due to him being medically complex, we will need to arrive two days before surgery, stay two days in the hospital, and then stay in Colorado for 10 days after surgery in a hotel. Niko was born with multi cystic dysplastic kidneys, he is autistic, has hypotonic cerebral palsy, and a few other diagnosis as well. With all his medical complexities and only having one kidney Children’s Colorado Hospital wants us to be close by just in case there’s any complications. We will also have to travel back again if any follow ups are needed. We need to pay for a hotel, food, gas, and any other medical necessities that Niko may need. Any donation would greatly appreciated to help relieve some of our stress as we deal with this new step in Niko’s medical journey.
