Hello, my name is Sarah Hartzell. I am hosting this fundraiser for my friend, Eman. She is a mother in the West Bank, Occupied Palestine.

Eman has been enduring settler attacks, loss of land, forced displacement, and unhealthy living conditions. In June 2024, settlers broke into her family’s home and broke windows, stole the land, shattered phones, smashed cars, and cut olive trees. They threatened to break bones if anyone disobeyed them.

She is now living in a small, unsanitary rental.

Her husband is in an Israeli prison.

Eman has 3 children, ages 6, 3, and 1.5 years, who she is struggling to provide rent, food, and medical care for. Her youngest child has a medical condition that caused a narrowing of his esophagus and stomach. This condition causes reflux and makes it difficult for him to eat, which is causing him to be underweight. This condition was present during Eman’s pregnancy with her son, and she has not been able to afford medical treatment for him. Doctors want to do a heart examination, and also a scope of his esophagus and stomach. This diagnostic imaging costs hundreds of dollars, and that is only for the diagnosis.

A few days ago, the full invasion of the West Bank began. Eman texted me from her location after it happened, saying the occupation closed all the roads that connect villages to cities. The settlers flooded the area and beat the citizens, the occupation forces shot their weapons indiscriminately in a senseless manner, gasoline and diesel have been cut off, and there have been drones flying above their village. An officer came to their house and told them “we will do to you what we did to Gaza.”

The West Bank is being ethnically cleansed. Contribute today to provide support to Eman, and to show your solidarity. The need will continue to grow as the invasion continues.

Hello friends,

Wanting to share an update on Eman’s behalf. A couple weeks ago, her home was broken into by the IOF, and her husband was abducted to the Israeli prisons for the 3rd time in 2 years. He has become disabled because of these prisons.

Additionally, the occupation is using the war with Iran as cover to increase their illegal sieges and violence across Occupied Palestine. The violence has been increasing even before now, but especially now. And Eman is enduring it alone while also caring for her children.

Please try to put yourself in her shoes. Rockets flying across the sky, constant threat from the IOF and the settlers, young children to house and feed, scarce adn expensive food and medicine… please contribute if you can, and keep her in your thoughts.

I am very worried about her.

Thanks everyone, Sarah

Hello my friends,

Since Israel has closed the only land crossing to Jordan, this fundraiser has become purely for survival.

Due to settlers and the IOF illegally besieging villages like Eman’s in the West Bank, the cost of food, water, fuel, and medicine has skyrocketed.

Eman is simply trying to care for her children and her husband (he was released from Israeli prisons with a disability he didn’t have before). The settlers and the IOF constantly make survival extremely difficult for their Palestinians.

Please keep her in your thoughts and actions.

Hello friends,

I recently spoke with Eman and wanted to share a couple important updates.

First, she recently discovered that 2 of her 3 children need surgery. They’ve been experiencing kidney infections and mineral deposits, and they both need surgery to resolve what is causing this.

Medical treatment, much less surgery, is very very expensive right now. This is because the occupation and settlers beseiging Eman’s village, along with several others across the occupied West Bank, is heavily restricting movement of the people and goods. This raises the price of everything, including medical supplies.

Second, this past week, nearby settlers poisoned a local well that a village farmer uses. This resulted in the poisoning and death of this farmer’s entire herd of sheep. Eman’s family relies on this well for water when the occupation cuts it off for the village. They fortunately didn’t drink from it when this happened.

The violence and mass forced displacement continues to escalate. The most recent data suggests over 50,000 people in the occupied West Bank have been forcibly displaced. This is ethnic cleansing.

Any continued support you can provide or awareness you can raise is much appreciated by Eman and her family.

Thank you & free Palestine

-Sarah
