My mom is just a year away from retirement. She's supported herself and family in need all on her own, ever since my dad passed away in 2009.
She broke her leg back in June while walking her dog. The doctors installed screws and rods, and then Mom went through a period of occupational therapy. Unfortunately, it was determined that the initial surgery got infected in the first rehab clinic, so they had to take it all out and start over. Now, she's back in another acute care facility for 6 weeks.
I live a few hours from Mom, and I don't have extra funds to help her as much as she needs. Her healing has been disrupted by financial problems while she's missing work. She doesn't have any disability pay. I want to thank her for her years of raising me to stand up when someone needs help.
I'm asking now for help for my mom to keep her apartment while she's not there, and to start chipping at the medical bills that she has now. She's living in a lot of uncertainty now, her job and therefore medical coverage in limbo, and I want to give her peace of mind that she needs to focus on healing.
