Our sweet Abel came home from school with a headache and feeling unwell. At first, he was diagnosed with a couple of common viruses and sent home to rest. However, the fevers and severe body aches continued for over a week, leading to his admission at Children’s Hospital on 12/15, where he has remained since.
Abel has now been diagnosed with meningoencephalitis. Before he can be discharged, he must meet specific medical criteria, and once home he will require physical therapy, speech therapy, and ongoing supportive care as part of his recovery.
David and Chelsea have been incredible, devoted parents, staying by Abel’s side every step of the way. As a result, they have missed work and are facing unexpected financial strain during this already overwhelming time.
This Christmas season, my hope is that we can come together as a community to support this beautiful family—lifting them up in prayer and helping ease the financial burden—so David and Chelsea can focus fully on what matters most: Abel’s healing and recovery.

Abel is doing so good! He's getting stronger every day. He was finally able to be moved to the rehab area of the hospital today.
