Elizabeth Nicole Aldrich was born April 9 2026 17 weeks early at 23 weeks and 5 days by emergency c section. This all started when my water broke around 20 weeks pregnant and had a sub chronic hemorrhage bleed and partial placenta abruption and severely low amniotic fluid. I started bleeding so bad I had to have 2 blood transfusions and 3 platelet transfusions. We finally got me stable enough to be transferred to OU children’s Special care OB unit. I was here for a couple days and the discharged after everything looked good. We came back that night because increased bleeding. I started getting Beta shots which is steroid shot to help develop Elizabeth’s lungs and had a magnesium drip for her neuro protection. Exactly a week later after that I went into full on labour dilated to a 5 and baby was still breech so we had to do an emergency c section as she would get stuck in the canal and possibly die. She was born that day at 7:20 pm at 1 pound 7 ounces 11.81 inches long, and immediately rushed to nicu team intubated and feeding tube placed at birth. She was stable and transferred up to the nicu. She has a grade2 brain bleed and is on high level oxygen and an FIO2 machine for her blood gas that we are currently weaning down on!! She is stable and doing her very little best. She is on blood pressure medication to keep her blood pressure stable and on a iv electrolyte to keep her nutrition up as she is to little to tolerate feeds yet. We are asking for help with expenses as we will be here for a minimum of 6 months for Elizabeth’s care possibly longer. We are beyond happy to be with our girl but we live an hour and a half away from the hospital and the hospital is 2 hours away from her fathers job. This goal is just a set an amount it does not have to be met but anything is greatly appreciated as this is a very critical time for our family financially and mentally!!
