We know climate change is happening. Actions to mitigate the 1.5 degree celsius (2.7F) threshold of warming are not happening fast enough.
While Idahoans care about climate change, decision makers, beholden to their constituents, are not taking action to mitigate our contribution to the climate crisis.
This project sets out to find 3 residents in one of each of Idaho's 44 counties. Shiva Rajbhandari and Jane Carney are traveling 2500mi over two weeks to ask regular Idahoans what they have observed about our changing climate and what they think we can do about it. Climate communication experts tell us that stories are the best way to get a message across.
If our representatives are not using the scientific tools they have, or statewide data on economic impacts from climate change, maybe hearing stories from individuals across the state will help catalyze change.
The funds collected from this project will go solely to the gas, food, and a small stipend for time of the youth who are embarking on this journey. Any additional funds over the cost of the trip will be donated to BABE VOTE whose mission is to encourage and help young and underrepresented people to vote.
