Dear Potential Community Sponsor: I am writing to ask for your support for our youth soccer program here in Palmer, Alaska. Polar Vortex Soccer is a local affiliate of the nonprofit Alaska Rush Soccer. We are a new club offering developmental and competitive soccer as a medium for promoting health and wellness strategies for local youth while teaching resiliency skills and the importance of community involvement in youth development.
We operate based on our Four Core Principles:
- Build a culture of resilient youth through excellence in soccer.
- Encourage individual player commitment to becoming one’s best self.
- Strive to instill an ethic of sportsmanship in all endeavors on and off field.
- Teach the value of pride in self, team and community.
We also encourage positive approaches to decision making through eight transferable soccer/life strategies. Each of these strategies serves an important purpose both on and off the field.

Accomplishments to date:
-Offered an initial two-week Skills Camp for 50 participants aged 8 through 15
-Developed and offered a two-week skills camp for Palmer Soccer Club for 118 participants aged 5-17
-Entered three coed teams in the AK Youth Soccer, (futsal and indoor soccer) leagues (2021).
-Entered one coed competitive team of 20 youth players in the AK Youth Soccer League Summer League, the Alaska Airlines Cup and the Alaska State Cup Tournament.
-Trained an additional 14 youth players aged 8-12 on our Developmental Team.
-Developed and offered an indoor soccer coaches training for 16 local coaches.
-Coordinated and carried out the Player Placement process for 400 youth players for Palmer Soccer Club.
-Two players selected for the Alaska Development Program to train and play in two Western Regional tournaments.
- One player selected for the Rush Select Western Regional Team to play in a National Tournament
We have a registered player growth increase of 90% year over year. While we have made and continue to make every effort to keep costs low for interested families, we understand that our registration cost might still prohibit some youth from being able to participate. We are asking for your support in the form of a donation at any level to support the following goals we have for providing access to our program to a greater number of local youths.
Community Investment Goals:
- Direct registration cost reduction (either partial or full).
- No-cost uniforms for participating youth.
- Travel costs for youth selected to join regional/national level teams as a result of Polar Vortex play.
Requested Levels of Supporter Investment:
- Grassroots Soccer Supporter $5-$100
- Alaska Youth Supporter $101-$200
- Regional Division Supporter $201-$500
- National Division Supporter $500+

- Every level of supporter will be recognized on our Website, Instagram and FB Pages
- Regional Division Supporters will have their business logo added to our letterhead.
- National Division Supporters will have their business logo added to Team Jerseys.
