I filed for divorce in 2022. I got the divorce because I was tired of being the sole financial support for my family of 4 since 2011. The divorce was finalized on January 4, 2023. In the divorce the judge ordered us to sell the house and split the proceeds, allowing us to live in the house until it sold. My ex & I agreed to sell the house after our youngest graduated high school on June 1st.
This week, I had a realtor come to the house. The realtor told us we could make a profit of $60K each after paying off the mortgage. My ex refused saying he didn't want to sell. I called my lawyer and asked what could be done. She said I needed to file a Motion of Civil Contempt and Enforcement to make him sell. Problem is she wants $1000 to file the motion.
My ex-husband didn't want the divorce. He hasn't looked for work since he was fired in 2011. He could go on Disability but doesn't want to. He expects me to keep paying all the bills, buying all the food and being the primary caregiver for our adult special needs son while he sleeps on the couch bitching at me that I don't help him enough.
