Hey friends! Kitty here writing on behalf of your friendly neighborhood flatmates ... So here's the dealio.
Earlier this year, Hops was laid off from work while she was dealing with chronic pain issues that were being exacerbated by that work. She kept trying, finding a contract nursing position in schools and looking for other work in between. Unfortunately, that work search has not panned out, her savings are exhausted, and unemployment compensation ran out soon after the first of three surgeries she needs to hopefully resolve that chronic pain and be physically capable of being fully employable again.
As friendly local flatmate, i (Kitty) have been trying to cover what i can - but my savings were long since also exhausted, so i'm not able to do as much as i'd like or as needed.
Currently, we owe $1000 for our November rent, and we must pay this amount in full via cashiers check to stop the process toward eviction. Kitty has paid the other $1000 representing her normal share of rent for the apartment Hops has lived in for over 10 years. We are working on identifying and applying for available assistance programs as well, which could help for November and/or December. Any funds beyond rent will be used for other essentials - food, utilities, auto fuel, pet care.
- Total rent & fees: $2015
- Non-included utilities: $400
- Pet food/supplies: $120
- People food (both of us have diabetes, special diet needs): $200
- Hops' fuel (travel for family, job search): $240
Total monthly costs: $2975
Kitty currently covers $1015 of rent, and contributes to people and pet foods.
A thousand thanks in advance for your kindness and support for our little piece of the Hash Fam over here! ON-ON
