Aya's family like many others in Gaza is struggling to survive. Every day, finding and affording food is harder. A bag of flour is now $2000, and 1 kg is $80. 1 KG is about one day's worth for bread. And that is only bread. To eat anything substantial would cost at least $300 a day, which is not feasible for most families there. Added to the expense is the hardship of scarcity, so that even families who can afford to eat may be unable to find anything to eat. The markets are increasingly bare, as what little remains is hoarded by grocers and thieves. This situation of scarcity and expense is only worsening by the day. Until recently, flour was $500 a bag. Its quadrupled. If you can make a recurring donation to this family, please do so, even if it's a small one, so that their odds of being able to eat improve. If you could share this fund with those you know to see if they might be able to spare a donation, that would also be helpful. Thank you for helping Aya get this far. I hope we can continue to help. It had been a while since I heard from Aya. The last time was almost a month ago. Normally, she is in close contact, so I assumed she didn't have internet or lost her phone. Finally, yesterday I reached out to check on her. To my surprise, she did respond within the day. She is despondent. 

For context, Aya has a new baby, maybe 6-8 weeks old. Additionally, she has two other young children. She cannot find diapers, and cannot afford them if she could. I do not know how she is managing the lack of diapers. Some families have resorted to using plastic bags as diapers out of desperation. This can be detrimental to the baby's skin and health. There is a known blockade on baby formula. What this means is that Aya's best chance at feeding her baby requires decent nutrition for herself. She doesn't have enough to buy food or diapers. Milk is increasingly absent. 

The first thing she said was "I'm so tired," and then she elaborated that they are constantly moving, nowhere is safe, and they are exhausted. 

No one can survive like this for long. Certainly, no one can thrive like this.

Aya is a new mother of a baby girl and has two other small children. Shortly after she gave birth, their home was destroyed. They need to find shelter and need food.
