I have always tried to be independent and handle life's challenges on my own. Living on a fixed disability income has never been easy, but I've always done my best to make ends meet without asking for help. Today, however, I am facing a challenge that is simply too overwhelming to handle alone.

In December, I underwent major lumbar spine surgery after doctors discovered that my L4-L5 disc had completely deteriorated ("dead disc") and that the surrounding joints were severely arthritic. During surgery, they removed the damaged disc and arthritic joints to relieve my pain and improve my mobility. While I am still recovering from that operation, I now face another major surgery.

On August 31, I will undergo cervical spine surgery to repair a bulging disc in my neck and four severely arthritic joints. The damaged disc is pressing against my spinal cord, causing dizziness, loss of balance, and increasing difficulty with everyday activities. My surgeon will perform a spinal fusion from C3 through C7, and my recovery is expected to take several months.

These spinal problems have changed my daily life in ways I never imagined. Simple things that many people take for granted—walking, standing for very long, driving, doing household chores, and even getting a good night's sleep—have become difficult because of the pain, dizziness, and balance issues. My goal is to regain my independence and improve my quality of life, but getting there will require time, surgery, and a long recovery.

Living on disability means there is very little room in my budget for unexpected medical expenses. I am already responsible for nearly $5,000 in out-of-pocket costs for these two surgeries, and that doesn't include hospital bills, medications, transportation to appointments, or other recovery expenses.

My goal is to raise $10,000 to help ease this financial burden so I can focus on healing instead of worrying about how I will pay my medical bills.

If you are able to give, no matter the amount, your generosity will go directly toward my medical expenses and recovery. Every donation, whether it's $5 or $500, truly makes a difference.

If you're unable to donate, I completely understand. I would be incredibly grateful if you would simply share my fundraiser with your family, friends, coworkers, and social media. Sharing my story may help it reach someone who is able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Your kindness, prayers, encouragement, and generosity mean more than words can express. Every donation, every share, and every prayer gives me hope as I face this difficult journey. I am truly grateful for your support.
