My beautiful baby sister Jenny (Whetstine) Hoffman was recently diagnosed with Stage 3 Diffused Fast Growing Large B-Cell Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which is cancer. We, as a family, are devastated by this news, as is Jenny of course..
She will begin an aggressive chemotherapy regimen on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee. These treatments, which consist of 5 different chemo drugs will be administerd continuously through a port for 5 days, requiring her to remain hospitalizrd. She will then go home for 16 days. The treatment must be administered every 21 days, beginning each time with the 5-day hospital stay, until 6 extreme treatments have been administered. After the treatments are completed, if there is a need for radiation to further rid her body of the large tumor under her arm, she will undergo that as well.
The doctor at Sarah Cannon feels quite sure the 5-chemo drug cocktail will cure this cancer. We are praying for good results!
This being said, the doctors have said Jenny will not be able to work for at least 6 months, maybe more because of the side effects of the chemo. One of the main side effects is extreme lethargy.
Some hospital bills are starting to come in and the monthly bills and living expenses are going to mount up soon. Also the travel back and forth to Nashville, two hours each way, will take a toll as well.
We are asking for your support to help defray all these expenses in this next 6 to 9 months, maybe more, as Jenny embarks on this journey in uncharted territory.
