Blaze was born with a congenital heart defect call Left Hypoplasic Heart Syndrome. He spent the first seven months of his life in the pediatric intensive care unit where he would meet his soon to be adoptive parents. Rick and Angela were to be a medical foster family for Blaze initially, but as it turned out they would become his parents. After his most recent Fontan surgery in April 2022, Blaze has battled with heart failure. In and out of the hospital for the past 5 months, it was determined after extensive testing that Blaze would need a heart transplant. Blaze is now hospitalized, displaced from family and friends. He will stay in the hospital as he is listed as a priority candidate for a heart transplant.
Rick & Angela's friends are reaching out for donations to offset the cost of temporary housing, travel, medical expenses and meals during these difficult and unimaginable times.
