Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica on Tuesday, October 28, as a category 5 storm, the strongest to ever hit Jamaica. The death toll has reached 50 or more and the damage assessment greater than $4 billion.

Here at Kiawah we have approximately 240 Jamaicans that are working on an H2B visa. They work the season in about every area of the resort. Many have been coming for multiple years, as many as 20 or more. Many of them have become friends we see every year.

It is time for them to return home for the winter and they will return in the Spring. The problem is that many of them have nothing to return to . Their homes, cars , and other belongings were severely damaged or destroyed completely. These friends need our help to get back on their feet and recover some of what was lost.

This campaign is to show these folks we care and rise money that will help them recover. We want to raise money to be directed specifically to the 240 people.
