The Baltimore Abolition Movement imagines a world where our communities keep us safe – not cops or prisons. Our movement fundamentally rejects carcerality and policing as forms of safety and their privatized expansion in our city. Our power is rooted in Baltimore’s communities and in solidarity with labor and student movements. We demand the complete abolition of the JHPD.
Our first campaign is to work towards the complete abolition of the JHPD. For this we are committed to:
- Building community power and solidarity against the JHPD through education and organizing.
- Demanding immediate repeal of legal frameworks that enable the enactment of the JHPD.
- Grounding our movement in a practice of collective care.
