Fundraising Update:
We are proud to share that Family Meal Sacramento provided over 100,000 meals to Sacramento residents in need since March of 2020. While we had hoped that our services were only going to be a short term solution during the height of the pandemic, we realized that our services are still desperately needed.
With the pandemic still ravaging our community, we are going to continue to be of service for as long as we are needed and as long as the funding is there. That is where you come in. We need your help. Every donation helps families who are food insecure while also supporting local restaurants.
What is Family Meal?
Family Meal is a chef-driven initiative to mobilize restaurants as micro-commissaries to create meals for people in need.
Your contribution not only feeds people in need but also benefits everyone in the food service supply chain. Restaurants utilize the donation to keep staff on payroll and order supplies from local farmers and purveyors in the "farm to fork" capital of the world.

What Does My Contribution Pay For?:
Every $40 raised through this campaign pays for one “Meal Kit”. Each kit is designed to feed up to four people or feed one person for up to four days.
$40 = 1 Meal Kit
1 meal kit = 4 meals
$200 = 5 Meal Kits
5 meal kits = 20 meals
$1000 = 25 Meal Kits
25 meal kits = 100 meals
Incentives:
What good is a campaign without some incentives? Here are some opportunities to get something for contributions at every level.
Donate $40 or more and be entered into a weekly drawing for a $50 gift certificate to any of the founding restaurants! The founding restaurant partners are Allora, Binchoyaki, Canon, Camden, Nixtaco, Mulvaney’s and Savory Cafe. Winners will be chosen at random and contacted via email.
Donate $200 and you will be acknowledged below as a “High Five from a Distance” sponsor for contributing 5 meal kits!
Donate $1000 and you will be acknowledged below as an “Air Hug” sponsor for contributing 25 meal kits!

Goals:
Feed Vulnerable People and Families
At-risk members of our community need food. Low-income families, their children, and the elderly may not have access to nutritious meals due to this public health crisis.
Support Small Businesses and Keep People Employed
The restaurant industry has come screeching to a halt. Skilled laborers are ready and willing to serve the community. This project utilizes the hospitality industry workforce to produce meals for families in need.
Financially Support Farmers and Purveyors
Farmers and purveyors are also hurting due to sudden mass closure of restaurants in the region. This project pays our purveyors for products and utilizes perishable inventory that otherwise may have gone to waste.
Scale the Project to Support more Restaurants and more People
The founding restaurants have been working day and night on logistics such as procurement, packaging, processing, distribution, and building coalitions for funding, activation, and deployment. Once this model is proven successful, if the funding is available, this project can scale to include more restaurants and help more people in need!
