70% of businesses don't make it to year 10. I've made it nine years and closer than ever — but I can't get there alone. I need your help to make sure year 10 happens.

In nine years, ALLTHETHINGZZ Space has grown from a wild creative vision into a fully functioning art space, event venue; and launchpad for large-scale installations, community events, and artist collaboration. My creative career (and the careers of so many other local artists) have expanded enormously because this space exists. The income from my creative work is what's kept the doors open and progress happening. Nearly all of it has been reinvested back into the space in one way or another.

In the past nine years this space has seen:

  • 60+ art studio tenants.
  • 100+ events.
  • 200+ large-scale art projects were born here.
  • 800+ people donating time, energy, money, and talent.
  • Thousands creating under this roof.
  • 10 businesses launched from this space.
  • Countless artists growing into their next chapter.

But “alive” and “thriving” are not the same.

For the first several years, the space ran on fumes. just enough income to cover rent, utilities, essential maintenance, and repairs. A core team of dedicated friends donated their time to keep things moving, but there was never enough margin to stabilize or truly grow.

Year 7 was a wake-up call. I had been pouring every dollar from my creative career back into the space, and even after raising tenants rent over time it still wasn't enough to keep up with the giant increases in operating cost. Something had to change, or the space wouldn't survive. If I raised rent more significantly I'd lose several tenants and have. hard time replacing them with other GOOD tenants. So I took a break from my personal art installations and shifted focus to event rentals in order to cover operating costs. With real day-to-day committed help from Austin Gage, Matt Moore, and our neighbor and space caretaker, Bubba Harris. we were able to split the workload to book and execute more events  with ease. For the first time ever, the space turned a profit and it also afforded me the ability to keep events running while I completed other offsite jobs.

It wasn’t perfect. I was still doing most of the work, but it was a big shift in the right direction and revealed a system that could finally make the space self sustainable.

Then 2025 changed everything.

We lost Bubba on March 29, 2025, after his cancer returned in January. He was my neighbor, biggest supporter, space caretaker; and one of the biggest reasons the space made it this far. Around this same time, life started pulling the rest of my core team in new directions. In a matter of months, everyone close to me who knew the ins and outs of the space best and donated the most time to assisting me with it's operations was gone.

Fortunately, my creative career kept growing: bigger builds, bigger budgets and leverage to form larger skilled teams. But when it came to running the space, I was now doing everything alone, moreso than anytime up until that point.  There was no budget or leverage for a new team here.

Without my team, everything started piling up. Event bookings slowed. Maintenance kept getting pushed back. Wear and weather began to catch up to the physical space in a big way.  For every big space improvement I make, 6 new ones are added to the list. I can't catch up. The weekly and monthly operational demands alone take up about 40% of my time. The rest goes toward focusing on my creative jobs that generate enough income to keep the doors open for my tenants.

On any given day, I am the landlord, property manager, event coordinator, booking agent, marketing department, graphic designer, photographer, editor, plumber, electrician, maid, maintenance crew, HR, debt collector, animal control, gardener… and that's on top of running my actual creative business. It's too many roles for one person. The work that actually drives revenue keeps getting buried. There aren't enough hours in the day, and I'm burning out.

I've stepped back and taken an honest look at what's not working, why I feel like I am increasingly successful, but still falling behind. I know enough about business to know that by year 9 I should not still be filling every role. The roles at the space that I'm most behind on are the same ones that directly drive income. If those roles are filled, the space pays for itself. But without income, I can't fill them. And without filling them, the income doesn't come.

That's the plateau.

Nine years of giving everything I have to this dream, and I'm not stopping. But effort alone isn't enough anymore. What I've built at ALLTHETHINGZZ Space is real. It works, I know what needs to be done, I just need to hire the right people to work with me to execute it.

Here’s The Plan: Time to Level Up

Something has to give, fast, so I am taking action now. By March 1, I'm hiring three part time team members to fill the roles I can no longer keep up with – the roles that directly drive income and improvement of the space. I have enough saved to cover the first two weeks of their pay- I am asking for your help to bridge the gap while I train new hires and they ramp up their roles.

I've set a goal of raising $5,000 by March 31 to fund these three roles for 10 weeks —  to afford me enough time to get a solid system in place, and get things moving again. I'm fully confident that once up and running, these roles will pay for themselves, I have clear goals and a timeline planned to assure it.

Here are the three roles I'm hiring for and how they'll move the needle:

Facilities & Environment Operations Manager
Get the space back in shape and keep it there — weekly and monthly maintenance, rain and wind protocols, event setup. A well-maintained space means higher venue rental rates, higher-end clients, and a return to being a real accessible resource for the artist community.

Event Coordinator / Manager
Manage event listings on Peerspace and other platforms, respond quickly to booking requests, give tours, secure recurring revenue, and help bring back our pARTys. Event Venue rentals are the biggest income driver for the space to be able to cover monthly operating expenses and new employees — and right now, they're the most neglected.

ALLTHETHINGZZ Space Social Media Manager
Promote the space's capabilities; showcase the space and it's artist tenants;  keep the community aware of resources, opportunities and happenings. Brand awareness and community engagement are everything for a space like this, and without a consistent presence, people simply forget we exist!

This is a leap of faith. But this space, this community; and every person who has poured their time, energy, and money into ALLTHETHINGZZ Space— we're worth investing in. Over 9 years I have proven  my work ethic, passion, and ability to succeed when I set my mind to it- I'm worth investing in.

Nine years of building this space have come at a cost: to my time, my health, my relationships, my own creative work. With a real team behind me, I finally get to:

  • Be present for the people I care about
  • Take better care of myself- manage my stress and elevated blood pressure

  • Say yes to bigger commissions and collaborations
  • Bring back our free monthly pARTys
  • Lift up more artist entrepreneurs

Your donation doesn't just save a space. It saves me too.

Let's make all the time, energy, and belief that's been poured into this one-of-a-kind place worth it.

Let's make year 10 strong.

Let's make Bubba proud.
