We never imagined I’d be writing something like this.
Asking for help doesn’t come naturally to me. If you know me, you know I’d much rather be the one showing up for someone else. But after everything our family has walked through, we’ve realized it’s okay to lean on the people who love and support us.
Not long after Mack and I met, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He underwent surgery right away, and thankfully his tumor markers returned to normal. We were hopeful that cancer would simply become a chapter in our story that we could close.
But when our daughter, Blakely, was just two months old, we received the heartbreaking news that his cancer had returned.
The months that followed were some of the hardest of our lives. Mack went through four rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a major surgery. Through it all, he never complained. He continued to be the incredible husband and father that he is, even on the days I know he felt exhausted and defeated.
When we were finally told there was no evidence of disease, it felt like we could breathe again. We started rebuilding our lives and catching up financially after everything that cancer had taken from us.
Now, we’re facing the news we prayed we’d never hear again.
Mack’s cancer has returned, and on August 24, he’ll begin treatment once again at Johns Hopkins. Between travel, medical expenses, missed work, and everyday bills, we’re realizing we can’t do this alone.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, we are beyond grateful. If you aren’t in a position to give, sharing this page and praying for our family would mean the world to us.
Thank you for loving us, encouraging us, and walking alongside us through another chapter of this journey. We’re trusting God to carry us through, one day at a time.
