We are reaching out to share what has been happening in our lives over the past several months and to ask for your support during an extraordinarily difficult time.
Everything changed for us in January 2026 when Carolyn suddenly began experiencing severe, daily dizziness that made it impossible for her to continue working. After months of being in and out of the hospital, testing in June finally gave us an answer: Carolyn was diagnosed with Unilateral Vestibular Inner Ear Balance Disorder.
This condition causes continuous dizziness and severe vertigo every single day. While we are relieved to finally have a diagnosis, her road to recovery is going to be long, and her health prevents her from returning to work for the foreseeable future.
Losing half our household income created an immediate crisis. On August 1st, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to give up our townhouse lease. We are currently living out of a hotel while trying to secure a permanent, affordable place to live.
Because we are relying solely on Ken’s income, saving enough for upfront move-in expenses—specifically first month's rent and security deposits—has proven nearly impossible on one paycheck while paying hotel rates.
