My daughter, Lex, moved halfway across the country, to Missouri, with her roommate, not knowing what lied ahead. Before even having a chance to get settled in St. Louis, she found out that she was expecting a baby, AND that she was, in fact, 26 weeks along(the exact same thing happened for my pregnancy with my youngest)! Her due date given was January 27, and she delivered my grandson on December 1. He weighed 5lb 4oz, but had several challenges in the next couple weeks, including losing weight, jaundice, and feeding issues. The baby has been in NICU since being born. And my rockstar of a daughter has been doing EVERYTHING alone! Absolutely 100% BY HERSELF, including pumping her breast milk every three hours to take to her growing baby at the hospital. At this point, I feel like we are keeping FaceTime in business, lol. I am in Pennsylvania and cannot be with her right now, as I have a job and responsibilities of my own, which make it difficult. Anyway, I will be going to get her, with my friend, as soon as my grandson is released and I can schedule off work. Lex was back to work within a week of delivering the baby, as she NEEDED the money(yes, her doctor cleared her). Every penny she has, is being used to transport herself to and from the hospital, and eat on. Three weeks later, the baby is going to be released from the hospital any day now, and I NEED to get her home ASAP. The main reason is because she is in a toxic situation, that she NEEDS away from (it took this pregnancy for her to realize this, though), and she's alone. She is still living with someone who is NOT good for her or the baby to be around. The closest relatives are two hours from her. PA is her home; her support system. But I would be lying if I didn't say I want them here, too. Anyway, I work full time, but have two children and a grandchild that I support here already. Not to mention that Christmas drained me financially. I do send her money when I can, but it's not often, due to all of my financial responsibilities. So, the goal is to be in Missouri within a week of my grandson's discharge. BUT, I just don't have the money to go get her. Not to mention, every EXTRA penny she makes, is going to the money it is costing her to break her lease in Missouri, which is $1250(that is just her half). There is also the small fact that once baby comes out of the hospital, my daughter cannot work at all. She is in a city where she knows nobody, and the baby's father is not in the picture. So she can't, and won't, leave her newborn baby with a stranger so she can work. I would never expect her to do that anyway. We are in a position that we NEED to ask for help. Any help at all is better than nothing. The way things happened was just a series of unfortunate events that led us all to this situation. And as much as I hate asking for help, I HAVE TO. Anything you can give, to help with this trip, will be utilized. And what isn't needed for the trip, will be used toward baby items when she gets home. We don't have many baby items yet because we expected to not only have her home before the baby came, but also thought we had another almost TWO MONTHS to have a baby shower and purchase items for baby after Christmas. I am humbling myself by making this. I don't like to ask for help of this magnitude, ever. And I hate to feel like I expect others to do things like this for me or my kids. Let's be clear that NOTHING is expected. But anything; ANY HELP AT ALL, is welcomed, because I'll do anything to help my children...Anything; even if that means begging family, friends, AND strangers to help! Thank you so much for taking the time! ❤️❤️❤️
