I am asking for help with ongoing family court fees as I continue a long and exhausting custody battle for my children.
For nearly two years, my ex-husband and I have been involved in a custody dispute. We were forced to settle before completing trial—not because I felt it was the right outcome, but because we simply ran out of financial resources to continue. This fight has drained nearly all of our savings. My husband and I have even closed out two retirement accounts in order to keep advocating for what we believe is best for my children.
Since the settlement, the conflict has not stopped. I continue to face ongoing stress, conflict, and challenges that make it difficult to move forward peacefully. I want to respond appropriately through the legal system, but at this time, we do not have the financial ability to continue pursuing the help we need. We are now facing the heartbreaking possibility of selling our home just to afford continued legal representation.
My daughter is 12 years old, and my son is 7. Each weekend when they come home, they ask for more time with us and share how difficult things feel for them. We do everything we can to support them emotionally, document concerns, and stay hopeful—but no child should have to feel caught in the middle of ongoing conflict.
Before relocating for work, I cared for my children the majority of the week. I am a stable, hardworking, and educated mother with no criminal history or substance abuse history. My only goal has always been to provide a safe, stable, and loving environment for my children.
This fight is not just about legal fees—it is about giving my children the chance to feel secure, supported, and heard. We want the opportunity to move forward, heal, and build a peaceful future together.
If you are able to help in any way—whether through a donation or simply sharing this campaign—it would mean more to our family than words can express.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting our journey forward.
