You all remember the sweet grandmother who took her grandkids in overnight after the mother ended her life? I want to thank you to EVERYONE who has stepped in for this family! Delivering meals, Helping with counseling for the children, and necessities. You all have been a blessing. But we are not fundraising for heat before winter! Winter will be here before we know it, and one grandmother is facing a situation no senior — and no child — should have to face: a home without a working heating system.
She is an elderly grandmother who has stepped up to raise her young grandchildren and provide them with a safe, loving home. She lives on Social Security, and after taking care of the everyday needs of the children in her custody, there simply isn't enough left to cover the overwhelming cost of replacing her heating system.
In the past, she has made it through the cold months using an electric space heater. She went without comfort and did whatever she had to do to get by. But now, with young children depending on her, a space heater is no longer a safe or realistic way to make it through another freezing winter.
💔 She needs a new heating system before the temperatures drop.
This is a grandmother who has already opened her home and changed her life to make sure her grandchildren are cared for. Now, she needs others to come together for her.
We are asking our community for help. Any donation — $5, $10, $20, or whatever you are able to give — can bring her one step closer to having a warm, safe home for these children. No amount is too small.
