Last year in September, we spent 2 weeks in the Philippines for a mission trip. Our purpose was for Louise and I to speak at a Pastors conference on the island of Masbate. While on route to the Philippines, where we were to give personal testimonies and a message of faith to encourage several hundred pastors, a typhoon shut down the island and the airport in Masbate. The conference was cancelled and we stayed in Cebu. While we were in Cebu City looking for other opportunities to serve, we experienced a 5.6 earthquake with several aftershocks. During our trip, God used us to feed tricycle drivers in Sibonga, Cebu and elderly women in Bulacan. We brought encouragement and faith to younger kids in Cebu and to teenagers in Tarlac. We also encouraged many people in churches in Tarlac and Santa Maria, Bulacan. We created a bond with many pastors and have been invited to come back.

Last year, we didn’t share much about our purpose of going to the Philippines and we robbed you of the opportunities to reap the eternal benefits of that mission trip. We believe that we still have a specific message for those pastors on Masbate Island. This is why we are going back to the Philippines to complete the mission that we started last year.

As we prepare for our trip, we are letting you know how you can help the people that we will be serving in the Philippines. For this trip, we are planning to serve pastors and their wives in Masbate, a children's ministry and tricycle drivers in Cebu, abandoned elderly women in Bulacan and a new opportunity to help men who want to change their lives while in prison.

Each of these groups have their own specific needs and if you would like to contribute monetarily to any of them, please let us know. The total amount that we have listed for this fundraiser includes the needs listed below plus the other costs of our trip including airfare, ground transportation, lodging and food.

Here are some of the needs that have been expressed to us for the people we will serve:

  • Pastors-specific Bibles and study materials

  • Kids-backpacks, school supplies and sports equipment

  • Tricycle drivers-daily food like rice, sardines and ramen

  • Elderly women-clothing and slippers, medical supplies and food

  • Prison ministry-Bibles

Thank you for your support,

Brett, Louise, Andrew, and Antonio
